The meaning

In Mexico, death is not the end

It's just a step. That's why catrinas are so colourful — Mexico laughs at death. In this workshop you'll get to know the Day of the Dead from the inside: the ofrenda with the favourite food of those who have passed, the path of salt, the candles that guide them and the three levels of the altar. It isn't Halloween: it's memory, celebration and family.

What you'll do

  1. 1. Build your catrina

    Using the traditional cartonería technique, with all materials included.

  2. 2. Paint and make it up

    Give it colour, flowers and personality.

  3. 3. Catrina contest

    At the end, everyone places a star on their favourite.

When is the workshop?
